GW4CAT HP - 3-year Wellcome Trust funded PhD Programme for Health Professionals

The GW4-CAT HP Programme has announced that applications for its fully funded PhD fellowships for registered health professionals and veterinarians is now open. Funded by the Wellcome Trust, this prestigious programme offers a three-year full-time PhD with a full clinical salary, hosted at one of four leading research institutions: the University of Bath, University of Bristol, Cardiff University, or University of Exeter. PhD start date between August and October 2026, flexible to clinical training.
GW4-CAT HP PhD fellowships provide:
- A full clinical salary for the 3-year duration of the PhD (or part-time equivalent)
- Budgets for research consumables, travel, and training
- Flexibility to undertake up to 8 hours of clinical work per week as part of PhD funding
- Choice of 4 world-leading institutions
