The NIHR has allocated funding for 8 CLs for recruitment in 2025/26, through the Integrated Academic Training (IAT) Programme.
As an NIHR CL you will spend 50% of your time in research or educationalist training. Full details, including the eligibility criteria for the NIHR CL, is available in the guidance for recruitment and appointment
The 2026 CLs are available from 29 September 2025, with award starting dates between 1 April 2026 and 31 March 2027.
Candidates for NIHR CLs apply via the online application system Oriel, not to the NIHR. Some CL posts may be advertised by the dental school within the IAT partnership. Please use the dentistry academic contacts if you wish to discuss a potential application with a particular partnership.
