Applications for the FLIER programme are now OPEN

The Academy of Medical Sciences is opening applications for the third round of their innovative, cross-sector leadership programme, FLIER: Future Leaders in Innovation, Enterprise and Research.

The FLIER programme aims to develop leaders of the future who will drive innovation by creating collaborations across sectors such as academia, industry, the charitable sector, the NHS, media and science communications, regulatory bodies and government.

The Academy is calling for Fellows, grant awardees, collaborators and others working within the Life Sciences sector to think broadly about encouraging talented emerging leaders with a vision for collaboration across the sector to apply to the programme. The deadline for applying is 17.00 GMT on 18 March 2022.

“If you want to help bring about change in your sphere of work and you have ideas about how to work with others to solve problems in health, this immersive leadership programme is a fantastic opportunity. FLIER will give you time to reflect, help you learn more about good leadership and introduce you to an exceptional group of talented people who will help you achieve your vision.”

- Professor Paul Stewart FMedSci, Chair of the FLIER Taskforce

FLIER is aimed at people in the middle of their career who are established in their own sector and with the seniority to create organisational change. They will have an emerging vision of how cross-sector working and collaboration could help solve the future challenges of research and healthcare.

The Academy is committed to working towards equity, diversity and inclusion and we actively encourage applications from candidates with underrepresented protected characteristics under the Equality Act 2010.
