‘Is a career in research for me?’ annual conference

This day-long event is aimed at students and recent graduates interested in research, and will enable them to learn more about engaging with and getting involved in research.

The event will cover:

  • interactive sessions with discussion leaders and workshops
  • an introduction to research careers from those new to research, plus talks on why research matters, and demystifying research
  • opportunities to engage with wider stakeholders through stalls available at the event
  • the chance to meet other attendees and learn from researchers at a range of career stages
    This event is open to any students or recent graduates from all professions and backgrounds within the NIHR remit

We encourage attendance from those aspiring to be:

  • health and care professionals, including nurses, midwives, allied health professionals, pharmacists and healthcare scientists
  • social work and public health professionals
  • professionals working in social care
  • researchers in methodology (including health data science)
  • doctors and dentists
  • those who are under-represented within NIHR, for examples, please see the NIHR Diversity Data Report
