Clinical academic careers are becoming increasingly interdisciplinary, and the research landscape at Imperial is richer and more wide‑ranging than ever. To support clinicians at every stage of their research journey – from pre‑doctoral to clinical lecturers, PhD candidates, nurses, midwives, allied health professionals, and more – the Imperial Clinical Academic Training Office (CATO) is hosting a special online event showcasing the breadth of research opportunities across Imperial’s Schools of Convergence Science.

Imperial’s new School of Convergence Science are designed to spark discovery and accelerate progress in four areas: Health and Technology; Sustainability; Space, Security and Telecoms; and Human and Artificial Intelligence, by cross-sectoral partnerships and harnessing of new models of research across imperial faculties e.g. Health and Technology brings together Imperial business, engineering, physical and life sciences.

This session will highlight how clinicians can collaborate with research groups working far beyond traditional clinical departments. While many naturally look to their immediate specialties – cardiology, oncology, dementia, and others—the opportunities across Imperial span cancer convergence science, AI for healthcare, sustainability, climate science, etc. Clinicians are increasingly seeking ways to contribute to research that shapes the future of health and society, and this event aims to illuminate those pathways.

Featured Speakers
A panel of leading researchers from across Imperial’s convergence science landscape will each offer a concise 15-20 minute insight into their research arenas and the collaborative opportunities available to clinicians:

  • Professor Iain McNeish (School of Health and Technology)
  • Professor Alessandra Russo (School of Human and Artificial intelligence)
  • Professor Aldo Faisal (School of Human and Artificial intelligence)

Open to clinicians across all professions, from doctors and clinical lecturers to physiotherapists, dieticians, radiographers, nurses, midwives, and therapists – this event is your chance to tap into exciting cross‑Imperial research opportunities.
