The Researcher Development Programme provides an exciting opportunity for nurses who work in social care to improve their research skills and help create a research-friendly culture at work.

We pay your employer to allow you to work on research for 1 day a week (0.2 FTE) for a period of 1 year.

Interns will have the opportunity to:

  • connect with researchers and research-active professionals in their area
  • undertake a practice-based research initiative within their organisation
  • promote research and support the development of research champions in their organisation
  • join a collaborative network of social care nurse research interns
  • act as research ambassadors in their workplace
  • we will provide you with support, coaching, mentorship, bespoke learning resources and networking opportunities
  • promote equitable and inclusive research practices
