The Clinical Academic Training & Careers Hub (CATCH) is designed as a welcoming introduction to a career in clinical academia.

We want to answer your questions about what clinical academia involves, who it suits and how you can take your first steps toward an enriching and fulfilling career.

Why CATCH was developed

CATCH was created to fill a clear gap in information for clinical academic trainees and healthcare professionals interested in these careers.

Members of the Clinical Academic Training Forum (CATF) formed a diverse working group of clinical academics, trainees, educators and industry partners to design a dedicated resource. After extensive consultation, CATCH launched in September 2021 as a one-stop hub to inspire and support clinical academics across all healthcare professions.

The site is managed by the Medical Schools Council.
